About
Welcome to Le Madras, an Indian culinary gem nestled in the heart of Blois, France. Located at 54 Rue Foulerie, this intimate restaurant has crafted a reputation as a must-visit destination for lovers of authentic Indian cuisine. With a phone number of +33 2 54 74 83 51, making reservations is just a call away!
Stepping into Le Madras, guests are instantly transported to the vibrant streets of India, thanks to a welcoming atmosphere that balances warmth and familiarity. The decor offers a cozy setting, often bustling with energy as patrons savor their meals. Though the restaurant itself is modestly sized, the flavors that emerge from the kitchen are anything but small.
Reviewers consistently praise the fantastic dishes crafted here. Aloka Malala Kawyaswara describes her experience with a mango lassi served in a generous pot, setting a delightful tone for her meal. She finds the chicken biryani, butter chicken, and naan so exquisite that they could be mistaken for dishes flown in straight from India. Stephen Lenahan echoes this sentiment, highlighting the friendly service and delectable starters that elevated his dining experience.
One of the restaurant's standout features is its dedication to authenticity. For those familiar with traditional Indian fare, Amarnath Gurunath proclaims the food to be “excellent” and “authentic,” with recommendations for the aloo pakora and dal served with garlic roti. The compliment of masala chai at the end is a comforting touch, perfect for reflecting on the flavors experienced during the meal.
Success doesn’t stop at just one dish; as noted by Hugo M. Nijhof, the variety throughout the menu caters to all preferences, including excellent vegan options. Each dish bursts with flavor, ensuring every bite is an adventure. The mint tea served alongside is a perfect complement, soothing and refreshing amidst the robust spices.
As a food reviewer at Menu Buzz, my enthusiasm for Le Madras stems from the genuine care and passion reflected in each plate. This restaurant not only delivers stunning culinary creations but also promises a memorable dining experience where you may forget the hustle and bustle surrounding you. Whether you are indulging in classic dishes or exploring vegan options, it’s clear that Le Madras is deserving of its glowing praise. For anyone seeking an authentic taste of India in Blois, this is indeed the place to be.
“ Really enjoyed our evening here, the starters were especially nice. The very friendly and professional was really welcoming and appreciated. ”
“ In one word I would say excellent, food was very delicious and being Indian I would say authentic and truly lived up to our expectations. For starters we had aloo (potato) pakora and aloo bhaja, for main course Dal (lentils) with garlic roti was awesome. They offered rice for which we weren't charged. Best part at the end of meal we had masala chai (tea with milk and cardamom) much needed for the weather. Will look forward to visit again, Shukriya le Madras for excellence service. ”
“ in one word amazing, great menu for 4 people with a great variety of entrees, main dishes and dessert really nice service extremely warm and kind recommend it for sure hoping to go back soon ”
“ It is small as the reviews suggested, but the food was good. We managed as vegetarians- with 1,6 and 9 year olds. ”
“ We enjoyed an excellent meal for 4 people. The food was great, the service was very attentive and we would definitely return. ”
“ Perfect place, The restaurant is little bit small but the food is Absolute fantastic , i am 100% sure you gonna pass a nice time at this place and i ordered an mango lassie it was delicious and there so many of lassie, basically normal indian restaurant offering one glasse of lassie but this restaurant offers you a big pot of lassie , Also if you like to visit india but you can't afford that, i recommend this restaurant because the atmosphere is just like india and the food is so delicious that i thought it directly export by india. The crew was so kind , friendly but the atmosphere is small, there was like 16 people at the same small room but when the food arrived i forgot everything around me . I ordered a chicken buriyani and some nans with butter chicken and some mango lassie, i have no regret this restaurant might be the best Indian restaurant in blois. ”
“ So tasty Food, with great service. The owner was kind and generous, he offered us a drink and free nan for my little one because he was sad. I tried a chicken with the eggplant sauce ( I forgot the name of the dish )but it was so delicious Totally recommend this restaurant ”
“ Small restaurant with some nice seats outside in a quiet walking street. We asked for Vegan options and that was no problem at all. The staff was ultimate friendly and very patient. Food was not very spicy, but had a lot of good flavours. Lots of it was already prepared and arrived very quickly on the table. The (vegan) vegetable dishes where of high quality. We also had chicken and lamb dishes, also very good food. Some little spices are served as a side dish and they added to the already big variety of flavours. The mint-tea is excelent and is a great match with the food. It is clean. Great experience, very good quality food. Great value for money. Love to return here! ”
